Marisa graduated from the University of Melbourne’s Doctor of Physiotherapy program in 2015. Since, she has primarily been treating classical ballet dancers and performing artists in a private practice setting.

Marisa has a special interest in dance-specific rehabilitation, the Pilates method, safe dance practice and education and empowering her dancers. She loves working in partnership with her dancers to optimise their movement patterns and reduce the risk of injury.

Marisa has an extensive personal history in dance; she trained at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School (VCASS) from years 7-12 and subsequently completed the Bachelor of Dance at the Victorian College of the Arts.  She worked as a freelance contemporary dancer for a number of years and has taught ballet and contemporary dance at various suburban schools. Following her dance career Marisa additionally trained and worked as a Myotherapist.

Marisa is passionate about combining her love of dance with the art and science of Physiotherapy. She enjoys amalgamating her skills gained from her prior roots in Myotherapy with her physiotherapy skill-set. Most importantly, she loves to make her physiotherapy sessions individualised, interactive and fun!

Marisa has a thirst for knowledge; she loves attending professional development courses and staying abreast with best practice. In her spare-time she loves to explore the Melbourne’s cafes and restaurants.
