Michelle Duong

Michelle graduated from the Australian Catholic University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. She is now working in the Melbourne clinic after treating the cast, crew and company of The Book of Mormon full time for their Sydney season.

Michelle has both sports and dance experience. Whilst in university she worked for many sporting teams and events providing taping, soft tissue work and game safety. Michelle has excellent first aid and first response skills after working with St Joseph’s College rugby, Sydney Juniors’ rugby, UNSW/ES AFL, and for various events in conjunction with Sports Medicine Australia including Shute shield, Uni Games, and various national martial arts tournaments.

With many years of personal experience in jazz, tap, contemporary, theatre, salsa and aerial circus rigs of lyra, trapeze and tissu, Michelle understands the demands of a performer and tailors her treatment to each individual’s needs. Her treatments involve a combination of manual therapies or “hands on” treatment, education, self management, exercise and injury prevention. Last year she completed her vocal physiotherapy training at Performance Medicine and has an interest in treating musical theatre performers and crew, vocal and TMJ (jaw) issues and circus/aerial performers.

In her spare time Michelle enjoys dancing, trying new restaurants, seeing live music and going to the beach.
